💻 Computer Science & Engineering
B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering. The institute also has a separate Artificial Intelligence & Data Engineering department.
Malaviya National Institute of Technology Jaipur is one of the major engineering and technical institutes in Rajasthan. It began in 1963 as Malaviya Regional Engineering College and became an NIT in 2002. In 2007, it was declared an Institute of National Importance under an Act of Parliament. Today, it is a centrally funded institute under the Ministry of Education.
If you are a student preparing for JEE Main and thinking about MNIT, the important thing to understand is that admission is not through a normal college application. For B.Tech and B.Arch, the route goes through JEE Main followed by JoSAA/CSAB seat allocation. That makes your entrance rank, category, programme preference and counselling choices especially important.

MNIT is not only a B.Tech college. Its academic structure includes engineering, architecture and planning, science, management and doctoral research. The institute's current academic listing includes the following undergraduate programmes.
B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering. The institute also has a separate Artificial Intelligence & Data Engineering department.
B.Tech programmes in Electrical Engineering and Electronics & Communication Engineering.
Chemical, Civil, Mechanical and Metallurgical & Materials Engineering are part of the undergraduate engineering portfolio.
B.Arch is offered through the Architecture and Planning department.
Postgraduate programmes include specialisations in areas such as renewable energy, chemical engineering, disaster assessment and mitigation, urban planning and other technical fields.
M.Sc. programmes are offered in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics through the institute's postgraduate admission route.
MNIT also offers an MBA through the Department of Management Studies. Admission is handled separately from the JoSAA route.
Ph.D. programmes cover engineering, science, management, architecture, humanities and interdisciplinary research areas.
Students will also find dedicated academic and research work around artificial intelligence, data engineering, cyber security, energy, materials and disaster mitigation.
This is the part students should understand clearly. MNIT does not have a general direct-admission process for its regular B.Tech programmes.
Qualify JEE Main and participate in JoSAA counselling. Vacant seats, if any, are subsequently handled through CSAB.
Admission is generally through CCMT for the regular programmes, subject to the current programme eligibility and counselling rules.
Admission is through CCMN based on the prescribed IIT JAM route for the applicable programmes.
MNIT publishes a separate MBA admission advertisement and institutional selection process.
Ph.D. admissions are conducted through the institute's own selection process, with notifications issued during the year.
International admission routes include DASA and other government-supported channels depending on the programme and applicant category.
The good thing about MNIT's fee information is that the institute publishes the actual fee structure on its website. The amount is also different for different income and category groups, so students should not rely on a single number found on a coaching or college-information website.

One of the things that is easy to miss when looking only at rankings and entrance cut-offs is the size of the MNIT campus. The institute describes a large green campus with academic buildings, hostels, sports facilities, a dispensary, banks, post office, shopping facilities, canteens and guest houses.
MNIT's official profile describes a campus of about 317 acres with academic, administrative and residential facilities.
The campus provides sports and games facilities along with spaces for co-curricular activities.
Canteens, a Nescafé outlet, banks, post office and shopping facilities are available on or around the campus.
MNIT has an on-campus dispensary supervised by a medical officer, according to its campus-life information.
The campus includes the MNIT Innovation and Incubation Centre and several research centres supporting student and faculty projects.
Technical, cultural and student-welfare activities form a regular part of campus life, with events and student societies running throughout the year.
The Central Library sits in the centre of the institute and provides air-conditioned reading areas, reading cubicles, book stacks, reference sections and digital resources. The library uses KOHA software for its database and RFID/smart-card based book issue system.
The current library portal also shows ongoing additions to print books, e-books, journals and research databases, so students have access to both physical and digital study material.
MNIT has a dedicated Training & Placement Cell. Its work includes internships, industrial training and campus recruitment for UG and PG students. The placement season generally runs from August through March, and the institute says that nearly 200 companies visit the campus for interviews across sectors.
The placement office works with companies from core engineering, IT, manufacturing, consulting, finance, management and R&D sectors.
Industrial training is part of the B.Tech curriculum, and the placement cell also facilitates internship opportunities.
For a serious admission decision, check the latest branch-wise placement report rather than relying only on the highest package headline.
MNIT's official placement portal says nearly 200 companies visit the campus for interviews and lists placement fliers for recent sessions. citeturn0search5
For students who like to check an institute's official ranking information, MNIT's own NIRF page lists its 2025 Engineering rank as 42 and Overall rank as 77. It also lists Architecture & Planning at 12 and Management at 62 for NIRF 2025.
These are reported NIRF 2025 results from MNIT's official NIRF page. Rankings change each year and should be treated as one piece of information rather than the only basis for choosing a branch. citeturn0search4
MNIT has a dedicated scholarships and awards section. Students should check the current Student Corner notices because scholarship opportunities and eligibility conditions can change from one academic session to another.
The final checklist depends on the admission route and the student's category. JoSAA/CSAB reporting instructions should be followed for UG admission.
