Maharani Gayatri Devi Girls' School was founded on 4 July 1943 by Her Highness Maharani Gayatri Devi. The school describes itself as the first public school in India for girls. It is located in central Jaipur on Sawai Ram Singh Road near Ajmeri Gate.

Admission to MGD Girls' School

For example, the published 2026–27 day-scholar schedule for Classes VI–VIII lists a ₹5,000 registration/processing fee, ₹60,000 admission fee and ₹60,000 refundable caution money, with a CBSE annual total of ₹1,10,490 in that particular schedule. Other classes and categories have different figures.

School History
The school traces its history to 1943. Its official history page records the foundation of the main school building in 1944, later development of the House of Science and Maharaja Jagat Singh Wing, and the reinstitution of the school library in 2013 as the Ms Lillian G Lutter Memorial Library and Reading Room.
The school has marked major anniversaries including its 75th year in 2018 and continues to maintain its historic identity alongside newer academic, sports and student programmes.
